Parents should assist younger children and never allow small children to handle boiling water.  Keep out of the reach of small children.  If eyes become irritated flush with water.

Easy clean-up with water

Gather your supplies (If you want to paint your geode, do it before you grow your geode crystals, using acrylic paint) it will be easier to handle.  

You will need...
  • A flat stable surface and a towel
  • Boiling hot water (distilled works best)
  • Measuring cup
  • Measuring teaspoon
  • Awesome Geode crystal growing kit

Start the process (Parents help young children)
  • Boil Water (distilled water works best)
  • Fill your measuring cup with boiling hot water to preheat for 1 miniute
  • Pour boiling water into the geode shell and preheat for 1 miniute
Preheat with boiling water
  • Pour the hot water out of the measuring cup and geode shell
  • Scoop 4 to 5 teaspoons of crystal powder into the measuring cup and add fresh boiling water to the 1/4 cup level.  (distilled water works best)
Add 4 to 5 Teaspoons
  • Stir the solution until the powder completely dissolves
Completely dissolve powder 
  • Fill the geode shell to the top (avoid overfilling)
Carefully fill geode shell with hot solution

  • Keep your geode on a stable surface using the provided display stand in a room temperature place between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit  
  • Crystals will soon begin forming and will continue to grow to full size (over night is fun for kids) 
  • Dump the solution out after 8 hrs. to reveal the crystals 
  • Crystals are hard to see until the solution is removed 
  • The Geode will glow brighter as the crystals fully dry
NOTE: (cooling slowly forms larger crystals)
